About Us
Baltic Sailplanes was established in December 1989 by Frank Pozerskis, shortly after his first visit back to his home country Lithuania, since leaving in 1943. During his stay, Frank visited the LAK factory and was so impressed by the design, construction, and testing facilities, he became the UK agent.
Today, Baltic Sailplanes is owned and run by Frank's son Tony Pozerskis, and his brother in law, Ron Bridges. I guess you could say it's a family business!
Tony and Ron are proud to be the sole UK agents for Sportine Aviacija. The Lithuanian aircraft manufacturer was founded in 1969 and for over thirty five years, the company has designed and manufactured high performance sailplanes.
The acronym LAK, formed from the initials of Lithuanian Aircraft Constructors is Sportine Aviacija's trademark.
Today, more than 400 LAK gliders fly in over 30 countries and Sportine Aviacija holds EASA and CAR certificates for all their sailplanes.
